I was hesitant about using any make up artist as I didn’t want to look too made up but after looking at Mel’s website I was very much reassured. Before the practise I had to fill out a comprehensive questionnaire which covered what I wanted and which products I normally used. This enabled Mel to completely create the look I wanted first time for the practise! I am very much a challenge because I have very sensitive skin and acne but none of the products Mel used irritated my skin in anyway. She created the illusion of clear skin without making my skin look dull. My mother and sister were also both delighted with their make up and we have since purchased most of the make up which Mel used for the day so we can try and recreate the look. I was nervous about having my make up scrutinized by a make up artist but Mel completely put me at ease. She was interested and keen to find out the sort of look I was trying to achieve. I decided to use Mel because I had gotten completely “fed-up” with my look. I use make up but I have never been confident in using eye make-up and didn’t know how to go about learning. Mel was brilliant. She got me to bring all my own make up so she could review what I was using and how I was using it. She showed me how to use my make up properly. More importantly, I didn’t feel like I had to go out and “buy” everything that she used as a make up artist. She ensured that I learned what to do by firstly showing me how she would colour one eye and I did the other on my own – surprisingly, they matched!!! It was a lovely relaxed hour and a half. I am much more confident now in building up the colour around the face and eye area without looking like I’ve been out all night on the raz!! I’d highly recommend her.
