Makeup lessons.
We had such a lovely day – thank you so much! Since the lesson we have both been busy buying! ? I’ve been so happy with my primer and foundation. I love them. I have my brushes and eye lash curlers (which took ages to source) and I have LOADS of Rimmel lipstick. I have the bronzer too… Today we are off to Meadowhall where I’ll pick up the studio stuff from m&s and the mac primer. I’ve felt really comfortable with all you taught us, so thanks again Mel!
Thank you for such a useful session, I took away so many ideas and have been enjoying experimenting with different techniques! I will certainly get in touch if I feel another lesson would be useful before the wedding.
Mel did my wedding make up for me over 4 years ago and when I saw that she also did make up lessons I thought it would be a nice birthday treat for myself.
She has both excellent product knowledge and technical skills and she gave me some great tips which I now use every time I do my make up. Mel is very friendly and a lovely person to spend time with whilst coming away with plenty of new ideas to try.
My mum and I went to see Mel in preparation for my upcoming wedding. I was quite nervous about the idea of having a make-up lesson but Mel made the whole experience relaxed and fun! She carefully tailored the session to our needs, giving tips for every day make-up as well as for the big day. We went through colours and products that suited us during the lesson, and I came away with a list of recommendations, but Mel also showed me how to make the most of the products I already had. I have been using some of the new techniques every day since the session and am already feeling more confident.
With an up and coming wedding, I booked Mel for a course so that I would have the confidence to do my own make up on the day. In addition I wanted to achieve a natural day to day look to make the best of what nature provided me with. As a mature bride I needed to get more up to speed with current products and trends on the market and learn better application techniques. Mel certainly delivered!!
From the start Mel’s friendly and relaxed manner put me totally at ease. Having filled out a questionnaire prior to my appointment the course was well structured to factor in all my needs. Mel explained the benefits of each product she recommended, demonstrated her application techniques before I had a go myself. Nothing was rushed, which made for a thoroughly relaxing, enjoyable experience and I was amazed at the results.
This is a course every woman could do with and I will definitely be recommending Mel to all my family and friends. Thank you Mel!!!

Thank you for my make-up experience yesterday and for sending through the products that you used. I really enjoyed it and feel alot more confident to give the techniques a go. Everyone thought I looked amazing! which is encouraging!
I was nervous about having my make up scrutinized by a make up artist but Mel completely put me at ease. She was interested and keen to find out the sort of look I was trying to achieve. Mel looked at my make up and described what she felt was worth keeping and really suited me and what was not. She then gave me an excellent lesson on what make up to buy (and where to get it from) and more importantly how to apply it. Lots of little tricks to enhance my best best features and play down my worst. I had a gorgeous new look and felt 10 years younger. I would highly recommend a make over with Mel. I enjoyed it so much I treated my best friend for the same thing for her Birthday present.
I decided to use Mel because I had gotten completely “fed-up” with my look. I use make up but I have never been confident in using eye make-up and didn’t know how to go about learning. Mel was brilliant. She got me to bring all my own make up so she could review what I was using and how I was using it. She showed me how to use my make up properly. More importantly, I didn’t feel like I had to go out and “buy” everything that she used as a make up artist. She ensured that I learned what to do by firstly showing me how she would colour one eye and I did the other on my own – surprisingly, they matched!!! It was a lovely relaxed hour and a half. I came away feeling like my all over make-up was very nicely done. I am much more confident now in building up the colour around the face and eye area without looking like I’ve been out all night on the raz!! I’d highly recommend her.

Teen & shared lessons.
My 13 year old daughter and I had a make up lesson from Mel. It was very professional and informative and we both learnt a huge amount about all aspects of make up. We can now do the natural look and also glam it up! Importantly it was also great fun and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We would recommend this to anyone.
Hi Mel just a quick note to say thanks for yesterday. The girls enjoyed it and learnt lots – seems they were most impressed that they used some of the same makeup as you! I think we’re fighting a losing battle on the brows front, but hopefully they’re now much better informed and more confident about their makeup choices ? Thanks again. Andy

Mel came to my home to give a makeup lesson to my 17 year old daughter and her friends. The whole evening was amazingly efficient and organised. All the girls had the most fun and by the end of the evening all looked totally stunning and still themselves and are now equipped to wear makeup and still look natural. Highly recommend it.

Mel did the wedding day make-up for myself, my mum and my bridesmaids. I was so pleased with my make-up, it was exactly how I wanted to look on my wedding day. My mum and all of my four bridesmaids looked flawless. As soon as I met Mel at my make-up trial I straight away felt at ease with her and comfortable to say if I didn’t like something…but I loved everything she did! On my wedding day she was so professional and friendly, one of my bridesmaids loved her so much she said she wanted her to be her best friend! I would highly recommend Mel…professional, friendly and she makes you look like the best possible version of yourself!

I have heard a few horror stories about brides and their make-up. However, I can safely say I am not one of them! As a bride, how you look on the day is up there with the countless other important things to do/be/remember on the day! However, on our wedding day Mel made me feel calm and relaxed. The stress of the morning seemed to melt away, and because we had a consultation she knew exactly what I wanted – easy! I was worried about my make-up, because I don’t wear much make-up on a day-to-day basis, but I had complete confidence in Mel, and my make up was beautiful and it lasted all day. I cannot thank Mel enough for making me feel beautiful on our big day.

My mum and I can’t thank you enough Mel for our wedding make up. My make up was the one thing that as a bride I just couldn’t decide on. After searching for so long I found you and immediately booked you after my make up trial. Thank you Mel for doing such a fantastic job for my wedding. I was hesitant about using any make up artist as I didn’t want to look too made up but after looking at Mel’s website I was very much reassured. Before the practise I had to fill out a comprehensive questionnaire which covered what I wanted and which products I normally used. This enabled Mel to completely create the look I wanted first time for the practise! I am very much a challenge because I have very sensitive skin and acne but none of the products Mel used irritated my skin in anyway. She created the illusion of clear skin without making my skin look dull. My mother and sister were also both delighted with their make up and we have since purchased most of the make up which Mel used for the day so we can try and recreate the look. On what can be quite a stressful day Mel was like part of the family which made the start of the day calm. Thank you very much Mel.
For someone who doesn’t wear any makeup usually, Mel made me feel very comfortable & confident in trying make up for my special day & even making me feel able to wear more than the natural look I originally asked for. Im glad you called today, I had wanted to pass on my thanks to you and I am pleased that I am able to do that now. I am not just saying this because you asked for a testimonial – you were truly brilliant. From the moment I phoned you in a bit of a panic you were calm and organised and helpful. Even for the least stressed bride, which I think I probably was, the last week is really chaotic and I found a moment of calm in you! The practice makeup session during that week was really useful, it really gave me confidence for the big day seeing the transformation that you could produce. You were so understanding, and listened carefully to what I wanted and advised me of the best makeup for the job. The result was fantastic, and really natural as I requested. I was really happy with it, and although I didnt have time to touch up the makeup all night, it still looked fantastic at the end of the evening. Mel made me feel stunning on the day of my wedding. I’m not used to wearing a lot of make-up, but for my wedding day I wanted to glow. I would not hesitate to recommend Mel for future events, she instantly made us feel at ease with a professional and friendly manner. We all learnt so much through the smoky eye workshop, Mel really knew her stuff and took the time to appreciate our individual preferences. Luxurious products were provided and the whole experience reignited interest in make up for all the girls, in the morning we went straight to the department store to stock up! The perfect way to spend an afternoon, we had a giggle, ended up feeling special and learned a lot while enjoying a glass of bubbles!

Mel was great to work with, I got in touch with her a week or so before the performance and she was back in contact straight away. On the day she arrived promptly, and her makeup was flawless.
